[WEBINAR] Continuous ADC Conjugation

Date

October 23rd, 2026

Webinar Overview

In this webinar, Eóin Bourke of APC's process development team shows how an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) bioconjugation step was moved from batch to a continuous flow process. He covers how kinetic modelling, shear testing and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) shaped a scalable reactor design. He also shows how a mixed modelling and experimental approach confirmed steady-state start-up and pump-failure behaviour, so the process runs consistently, not just for a single sample.

To develop an ADC process, you need chemistry and biology to work together. The conjugation step joins a cytotoxic payload to a monoclonal antibody (mAb), and small changes in time, temperature or mixing can shift the drug-to-antibody ratio (DAR). Batch processes can be hard to control for fast reactions. They also leave little room for productivity gains as a programme scales.

Our Approach

APC brings small-molecule and biologics expertise together on one site, which few ADC developers can do. Our analytical team runs HIC for DAR, SEC for mAb integrity and RP-HPLC for free drug concentration in-house. The HPAPI facility is independently verified to operate safely at 0.1 µg/m³. All data is available in real time through APC's iAchieve digital platform.
